Story time with Shannon:

Celebrate the winter season with a delightful story time led by Shannon, where enchanting tales will spark the holiday spirit in children and adults alike.

Drop-in Flat Felt Gnome making with Emilie:
12-3:30pm, Flat Felt Gnome | Watson Gallery 

Explore your creativity with a drop-in art activity hosted by Emilie, where you’ll have the chance to create your very own flat felt gnome! Perfect for kids of all ages, this hands-on activity allows everyone to explore their artistic side and take home a unique holiday decoration.  

Proceeds from our Homer Holiday event will support our mission to make art accessible by funding exhibitions, educational programs for all ages, and preserving the collection for future generations.

The Loch Doon area was memorialized in celebrated Scottish poet, Robert Burns piece “Ye banks and braes O’ bonnie Doon”

Ye banks and braes o’ bonny Doon,
How can ye bloom sae fresh and fair?
How can ye chant, ye little birds,
And I sae weary fu’ o’ care?
Thou’lt break my heart, thou warbling bird,
That wantons thro’ the flowering thorn:
Thou minds me o’ departed joys,
Departed, never to return.

Aft hae I rov’d by bonnie Doon,
To see the rose and woodbine twine;
And ilka bird sang o’ its love,
And fondly sae did I o’ mine.
Wi’ lightsome heart I pu’d a rose,
Fu’ sweet upon its thorny tree;
And my fause lover stole my rose,
But, ah! he left the thorn wi’ me.
