Explore, Create, Celebrate!

You can’t spell pARTy without ART! Celebrate by exploring your creativity! Choose from one of our package options. Create a unique piece of art with a workshop led by one of our engaging art instructors. 

Our pARTies are great for individuals of all skill levels. All options include required art supplies, a dedicated HWHG instructor, and exclusive booking in one of our studio spaces.  

pARTy bookings are 2 hrs. long – 1 hr. workshop & 1 hr. studio rental to enjoy party treats that you bring in—, pizza, or whatever you wish. Additional rental time can be added to your booking for an additional fee. 

Details: 

  • Parties take place in one of our studio spaces – The Elm Studio or the Garden Studio. *Location of birthday is determined based on availability & group size*
  • Party packages are priced for a group of 12 party guests. Additional guests are $10/guest. * “Guest” refers to party goers who participate in the workshop. You will only be charged for extra guests if they attend your party. *
  • Parties are 2 hrs. – 1 hr. For your creative workshop and 1 hr. use of the studio for pizza, treats, games, or other activities. *Please note this hour is self-directed. Additional time can be added to your booking at a rental rate of $100/hr.
  • Party hosts gain access to the studio space 15 minutes prior to their booking and have 15 minutes after their booking time to tidy up.
  • A $60 non-refundable deposit must be made a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your party date to confirm your booking.
  • Bookings must be made for a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. If you are booking within two weeks, please reach out directly to programs@homerwatson.on.ca

Clay Creators:
Pottery Party
$300 for 12 party guests

Clay sculpting is perfect for students who enjoy sensory play and getting messy! Each student will hand build one fun or functional artwork using clay and underglaze colours. Using a pinch pot technique guests can make a bowl for treasures or a piece of treasure itself!

Printed Play:
Printmaking Party
$250 for 12 party guests

Create your own print! Students will carve a foam plate with their own unique design showing off their favourite parts of nature, then learn how to ink their plate and pull a print! Students will develop an understanding for how negative and positive space are important when creating these monotype prints, laying the groundwork for understanding printmaking.

Passport to Party:
Painting Party
$225 for 12 party guests

Learn to paint like Watson using rhythm, colour value and tone. Each student will learn watercolour techniques to create a landscape painting from life or from their imagination. The best part is that each student walks away with a postcard from their visit to Homer Watson House & Gallery!

Guided Gallery Tour

30-minute guided tour of the gallery’s current exhibition and historic Watson Studio.

Guided & Grounds Gallery Tour 

45-minute guided tour of the gallery’s current exhibition and historic Watson Studio. Added guided tour of our 3 archer grounds. 
Additional $8.50/participant 

1 hr. Additional Studio Use Time

How many party guests can I invite? 

The Garden Studio can accommodate a maximum of 30 party guests. The Elm Studio can accommodate a maximum of 15 party guests. 

Can parents or other family members attend the party? Will I be charged extra if they attend? 

Absolutely! Parents of party guests or other family members are welcome to attend your celebration. We ask that you please let us know a rough idea of how many people will be attending. You will only be charged for guests that participate in the workshop activity. 

When can we take home the art that we make? 

Paintings and prints can be taken home at the end of your celebration. Clay projects will be ready for pick up approximately 3-4 weeks after your party. 

What should I tell guests to wear? 

Dress for mess! Art making is fun and messy, some materials used during the creative workshop may not wash out of clothes. 

What is provided? What can we bring? 

HWHG provides all art materials for your creative workshop. Party hosts are welcome to bring decor, food, beverages, loot bags, cutlery, etc. *Please note; to follow Homer Watsons legacy of environmentalism we encourage parties to use eco-friendly party supplies. Any excess garbage from decor or food must be taken with you after your party.
