Homer Watson House Foundation: 2025 Board of Directors-At-Large Opportunity
Looking for a meaningful leadership volunteer opportunity that allows you to make a lasting impact on the arts in Kitchener/Waterloo Region? The Homer Watson House Foundation (HWHF)—a charitable Foundation that supports the work of the Homer Watson House & Gallery—is seeking enthusiastic, creative and experienced individuals to join its Board of Directors as a Director-At-Large. As a Board Member, you will guide the strategic direction of HWHG to ensure its long-term sustainability and success.

The Foundation formed in 1981 to preserve and celebrate the legacy of Homer Watson’s creative spirit by stimulating the appreciation, enjoyment and practice of the visual arts.
The Foundation is dedicated to the:
- Preservation and collection of Homer Watson’s art, his home studio and gallery and the heritage of his life, his times and that of Phoebe Watson and the Doon School of Fine Arts.
- Exhibition of Homer Watson’s body of work and regular shows of contemporary local and regional artists.
- Education and enrichment through events and instructional programs in the visual arts.

The Opportunity:
The Board of Directors is seeking Director-At-Large roles.
The Board plays a Governance Role in supporting the work of staff at the Gallery. Board member terms are for two years and the time commitment required is about 10 hours per year. Board meetings occur in person at the Gallery on the following dates for 2025/26:
- September 30, 2025, 6:30-7:30
- November 25, 2025, 6:30-7:30
- January 27, 2026, 6:30-7:30
- March 31, 2026, 6:30-7:30
- May 26, 2026, 6:30-8:00: AGM followed by a Board meeting
