Crossection 2026

Central Ontario Art Association is a member supported group of Ontario artists with roots in the KW area and an 80 year history. COAA members work various mediums with very diverse styles Crossection is one of two juried shows held annually and it is meant to showcase their best work. Our juror this year was Andrew Cheddie Sookrah, a professional artist and well known art instructor who has won many awards and been a member of the Arts & Letters Club of Toronto for thirty plus years.

COAA is delighted to return to Homer Watson House and Gallery for their flagship exhibition “Crossection 2026”

The Loch Doon area was memorialized in celebrated Scottish poet, Robert Burns piece “Ye banks and braes O’ bonnie Doon”

Ye banks and braes o’ bonny Doon,
How can ye bloom sae fresh and fair?
How can ye chant, ye little birds,
And I sae weary fu’ o’ care?
Thou’lt break my heart, thou warbling bird,
That wantons thro’ the flowering thorn:
Thou minds me o’ departed joys,
Departed, never to return.

Aft hae I rov’d by bonnie Doon,
To see the rose and woodbine twine;
And ilka bird sang o’ its love,
And fondly sae did I o’ mine.
Wi’ lightsome heart I pu’d a rose,
Fu’ sweet upon its thorny tree;
And my fause lover stole my rose,
But, ah! he left the thorn wi’ me.
