Clothesline Art Sale: August 2026

ThursdayAugust 13, 5:00-8:00pm

We strive to make art more accessible, and our Clothesline Art Sale: August is the perfect opportunity for art lovers to purchase a wide range of art at varying prices. We support a diverse range of artists to display and sell their work in an easy and affordable way. Our August sale will have a special section welcoming artists ages 17 and under.

Unframed works will be displayed on clotheslines through the trees and along the edge of the park.

This clothesline sale will also be accompanied by Summer Books and Blankets Chapter 3, the third in a series of evenings on the lawn spent reading your favourite book! Keep an eye on our social media and website for announcements about how you can share your own writing at this event!

For Vendors:

We will consider all artwork that is original and unframed, including zines. All artists and creators are welcome to participate. Both emerging and seasoned artists can sell their artwork in a fun, easy, and approachable way. Artwork is displayed on a clothesline only (must be light weight). Tables, tents, and display units are not allowed. Lawn chairs, clothes pins and bins for extra unframed works are highly recommended. The Gallery does not take commission on any sales.

Application Deadline: extended while spots remain open.

Note: We do try to assess applications and notify applicants as early as possible, but in many cases applications are assessed after the application deadline has passed.

The Loch Doon area was memorialized in celebrated Scottish poet, Robert Burns piece “Ye banks and braes O’ bonnie Doon”

Ye banks and braes o’ bonny Doon,
How can ye bloom sae fresh and fair?
How can ye chant, ye little birds,
And I sae weary fu’ o’ care?
Thou’lt break my heart, thou warbling bird,
That wantons thro’ the flowering thorn:
Thou minds me o’ departed joys,
Departed, never to return.

Aft hae I rov’d by bonnie Doon,
To see the rose and woodbine twine;
And ilka bird sang o’ its love,
And fondly sae did I o’ mine.
Wi’ lightsome heart I pu’d a rose,
Fu’ sweet upon its thorny tree;
And my fause lover stole my rose,
But, ah! he left the thorn wi’ me.
